The Experience: This area is famous for traditional climbing and top-roping on sheer sandstone faces. The views from the wall overlook the vast, 15,000-acre wilderness of the gulf.
Permits Required: Every climber and rappeller must register for a free permit, available at the Stone Door Ranger Station or online through the Tennessee State Parks website.
Rules: Climbing is prohibited within the actual Stone Door crack or on the main overlook to ensure hiker safety and resource protection.
